Size guide
Updated on
Many of our pieces exist in one size only. This guide helps you tell whether it is made for you. Every house sizes in its own way: on a piece’s page, the actual measurements of the garment, taken flat, are given when we have them. If in doubt, write to us: we will answer with the piece in hand.
Measure yourself in your underwear, with a tailor’s tape measure, without pulling it tight.
- Bust or chest: at the fullest point, with the tape horizontal under the arms.
- Waist: at the narrowest point of the torso, above the navel.
- Hips: at the fullest point, around the pelvis and buttocks.
- Shoulders: from one shoulder tip to the other, across the back (easier with two people).
- Inside leg: from the crotch to the ankle, along the inside of the leg.
- Foot: place your foot on a sheet of paper against a wall, mark the tip of your longest toe, and measure from the wall to the mark.

Not every house uses the same system. The equivalents below come from the labels of our pieces.
| House | System | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Berluti | UK sizes, half sizes | 8.5 UK = 43 |
| J.M. Weston | UK sizes, E, F or G widths | 7E = 40 ⅔, 9E = 43 ⅓ |
| Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Choo, Salvatore Ferragamo, Burberry | European sizes | 38 = 38 |
For European sizes, allow about 2/3 of a centimetre per size: a 25.7 cm foot takes a 40, a 27 cm foot a 42, with a comfort margin of about 1 cm. For her, the usual equivalents are 36 = UK 3 = US 5, 38 = UK 5 = US 7, 40 = UK 7 = US 9; for houses that use UK sizes, rely on the table above.
A bag is measured in width, height and depth: these dimensions appear on its page. Choose a belt according to the waist size of the trousers you wear, plus about 5 cm.
The showroom at home: we come to you with the piece, you try it on, and you decide there and then. A piece ordered online can be returned under the conditions on the Returns and exchanges page.
